Hi - Here are some pictures of Bingo, the kitten we adopted in January. She is about 9 months old now. She rules the house, loves affection - (demands it!) and is so full of personality! She lays in the bidet every morning while we take our showers then hops in the shower to watch for a drip. She loves to play fetch and will fetch any small toy or even a wad of paper. She brings it to us and drops it near our hand, then fetches til she tires out. We think she is the most loving animal we have ever known. Thanks for taking care of her til we met her!!!!! My family and I adopted Abby on March 19 2010. Ever since that day she has been a miracle to our family. She loves my daughter Gabby, and snuggles with her when she goes to bed. She also loves Nacho, our chihuahua he snuggles up close to her and they sleep away! The sweetest dog in the world, would be Abby. |

Just wanted to let everyone at the shelter know how I'm doing these days! I was found and brought into the shelter in July 2009, and since I had heartworm, wasn't looking OR feeling very good. But my mom and dad saw me and fell in love with me - so they waited until September until I was healthy enough to go home with them...and I LOVE IT ! I'm very good in the house - have NEVER had an accident...and I have sooooo many toys, I hardly know which one to squeak NEXT. My dad takes me for a walk on the beach EVERY morning, and mom strolls me around the neighborhood a few times a day, too. I'm a GREAT traveler - and have already been to NJ, CT and PA. Anywhere they go, I'm ready to get in the car. Since I'm a Schnoodle, I don't shed AT ALL....which Mom and Dad thought was a REAL plus - and I've never met another dog I didn't like. My name is Marvin (which was my shelter name)...and I LOOK like a Marvin....and if anyone wants to see MORE of me, just go to Dogbook and look under "Marvelous Marvin Miller" !xoxox Marvin (as dictated to Barb and Ted) |

We adopted "Gabby" from The Humane Society of North Myrtle Beach at the PetSmart store a few months back. From day one she has been so funny and full of life. We have two other cats and Gabby just walked in, sniffed around, and took over! She has made a new best friend with Toonces our other adopted kitty from the shelter in Myrtle Beach. Toonces is 16 pounds and Gabby is a little over 5 and she loves to wrestle him!She has been a wonderful addition. So full of life, energy, and friskiness! Thanks for giving us this wonderful little girl! |

Hi Gang,You most likely don't recognize me cause I weigh about 95 lbs now. It's me "HIGHWAY". But I wanna let you know that the family I picked out a little over a year ago, their training has come along great. I have them feeding me twice a day. I have a huge backyard to run around in. I have two beds that I talked them into buying for me, a day bed and a night bed. I trained them that whenever we go shopping that a couple of bags of treats are always put in the cart. And did I mention that they NEVER go driving without me in the backseat, chewing up that GPS has made me the directional expert. And for Xmas, I made a list that was filled with everything that I wanted, a new squeaky toy, a new collar, a new leash. The only thing that I didn't like is that they got a new camera and they take my picture every time I wanna take a nap, as you can see from this picture. But the very best of all of this is that they always give me a lot of hugs and love. I'll keep you guys informed as to the new training I started, golf cart rides every night before I go to bed. Well I gotta go now, time for my morning nap in the sun. This is "HIGHWAY", your dog of leisure. |

Murphy was a great passenger for the 17 hour ride to New Hampshire and is gaining weight and size quickly. He doesn't like the snow and cold at all, but that is all he has seen since we arrived home on New Year's Day. It was 1 degree this morning. Here are some pictures. Rich and Pat Lecuyer |

I want to thank everyone at the shelter for all their hard work. Keisel is nearing his 1-year mark and he has been a dream come true. Sometimes I think he is smarter than me. I had an incident where I was stung by more than 30 yellow jackets while walking him and he helped me back to the house ..... fighting off all the bees he could until I was safe. I'm so glad I stopped by the shelter that day and found him. Please let me know if there is any information on his brothers and one sister (8 total). I would love to talk to their owners.sincerely Mark Getsy |

Since August 2000 we have vacationed at North Myrtle Beach. After getting fried in the sun over a few days I was taking a break from the sun and was surfing the channels when I came across the public access channel and saw your ads. I showed my wife and she said we should stop by and donate some money but do it on the Friday before we left due to the fact that we wouldn't be able to bring anything back to Philly with us. We had two dogs home at the time.Every year since we have stopped by to donate some money and walk around looking at the dogs and cats available for adoption. Each year wanting to take at least two animals home with us. Last year (2008) was no exception, while walking through the kennel we ran into Gunny, a coon hound with a handsome face and great disposition. We went back for a second look and played with him. But being it was a Friday and we were leaving on Saturday we knew we couldn't take him. So we left after leaving our yearly donation. On the way home our son, Billy couldn't stop talking about Gunny. We had taken two vehicles last year on vacation and about an hour in to the ride I phoned my wife and jokingly said we could still go back to get him. She said we could talk about it when we got back to Philly. Four two weeks after we got home we talked about Gunny and if he would get along with our present dog (Jessie). My wife finally told me to call down to see if he was still there and if he was, it was meant to be. He was! We started the paperwork to get him. Of course nothing ever goes easy, a hurricane threatened the area when Gunny was to get fixed and that pushed our pick up back. But on September 10th we drove the 600 miles back to Myrtle to get him. We picked him up and stayed down at one of the hotels at Myrtle where Gunny claimed his place on the bed between me and my wife. The ride home was long but Gunny was great. Since then Gunny has become a part of the family. He is extremely affectionate, protective of his home and family, loves playing with pull toys, balls of any type, and his new favorite, the laser pointer. Gunny will chase that laser pointer for hours. We are on our third set of batteries. We take Gunny to the fields by our house where we can safely let him loose. watching him run is like watching the elegance of a thoroughbred horse. He has a booming bark that I have heard blocks away. He is usually the first one to welcome us home. Gunny has a unique trait of smiling when we come in to the house. It almost looks like a snarl but we know it isn't. Gunny does have a few bad traits as well. He seems to have a hatred of remote controls of all types. Whether is the cable remote, TV, remote or the A/C remote he tends to disassemble them in a fashion only a dog can. He also seems to prefer expensive shoes and sneaks to chew on. Gunny also is a little on the impatient side at times and he will show this by stamping his paw on to the floor. All that being said we are happy we were able to get him and that the Humane Society of North Myrtle Beach helped make it possible. William Beck Philadelphia Pennsylvania |

We adopted "Latte" from your shelter in May 2008 at PetSmart. As you can see she is very spoiled and is so loved. She brings us all so much joy.She loves the coca- cola box!!! So funny...we were going to recycle it but she claimed it. Thank you for our newest family member. |

I thought you might like to see your little "Sparrow"(now Delilah) in her element. She has claimed all the mice, the newest bed, and sleeps with me in my bed now too.Oh, and she is totally fascinated with a mirror. I guess she's never seen one before. Isn't it funny the things a cat takes for granted, that having been in a shelter, she's never seen. The tv is amazing to her too...:-) Jan Chilton |

We would like to thank you for caring for our newest family member Lille until we found him! He has quickly become a close member of our family
and has won a place in our hearts and a spot on our bed! He was named "Rover" when we adopted him.. we thought it sounded like a dogs name.. Soon to find out he is a Cat-Dog.. he has taught _*us*_ to play fetch with his favorite toys! Lille has even turned our older grumpy cat Paris into a playful friend again.. Giving our older cat the companion he
needed. Thank you for all that you do! |

North Myrtle Beach Humane Society,We adopted our cat, Sissy, in January of 2009. Sissy adapted to our family and home immediately. She is a very loving, happy, playful and sociable cat. We just simply adore her. We couldn't imagine a life without Sissy. She is our baby. My 7 year old daughter even calls Sissy her "kitty sister". I have attached a few pictures of Sissy. She loves to watch tv so I have attached one picture of her with my daughter watching a cartoon. We couldn't be more happier with our adoption of Sissy. Thank you, Colleen Mills |

Snuggles is doing great. He is very loving and totally spoiled. He and his "brother" own the house! He is quite partial to tuna and fish ... Must be the beach in him. He follows me everywhere in the house unless he is napping and then he knows where I am anyway. Thank-you again for working with me to be able to get him!! You all do such a great job with such a difficult task!! |

Hi All,Both are doing great after some time and care to adjustment. Gussie-June alias Gussie-Girl has turned into a little butterball and is the sweetest thing...she likes to sleep on my head, likes long hair, which she is so gentle in tapping (what it feels like) and playing with. Sje loves to snuggle up next to your face, head, and neck, and the more hair the better. Johnnie-Cash alias Sweet-Boy is a little more shy than Gussie. As a matter of fact the day I brought Gussie home and they met each other....she wounded his male pride a little by flipping him over she was so excited, and he didn't know what to think about that-she caught him by surprise and it was so funny! Johnnie is a little more reserved than Gussie, but he is so sweet. He loves to rub hard on your face, and when he wants he likes to be cuddled/held like a baby...he just purrs and purrs. He also likes to "make buscuits for breakfast." This is my first experience adopting from an animal shelter. I've never had to adopt because I've always had animals, whether babies found on the side of the road, or my own animals I've always had. My beloved cat Mr. Pinky I loved since his birth 10 yrs ago passed away in July from kidney failure breaking my heart. I missed him so, but I always said even when he was alive the next time I decide to get an animal it will be from an animal shelter. The months in between Pink's death and before the adoption was the first time in my life I had ever been without an animal..then I saw Gussie-June's photo, and the rest is history. They have fit well into our family, and it has been one of the most profound experiences I've ever had. I urge other's when seeking an animal to please adopt! There were several more I wanted to adopt, but I have to stay within my means to provide proper care they deserve! I appreciate all you all do for those animals, and I wished I lived closer where I could volunteer to help take care of them. I will be by the facility soon with donations to help in their care. Thank you, The parents of Johnnie-Cash and Gussie-June |

Hi,Just wanted to send you some pictures of Zander in his new home. He is adjusting wonderfully and has been entertaining us with his hilarious behavior. He loves to look at himself in the mirror and will go back for a 2nd and 3rd glance to see just how handsome he is. LOL We walk/jog every morning and evening and he has done great on leash. At first he pulled like crazy (as I'm sure you know if you walked him before) but with patience and training he is already walking calm beside me and not ahead of me. Once he gets a little more settled we will bring him for a visit. Thanks for all you do for all of the animals!! Anne Eckenrode |

home and we are very happy with her. Thank you so much.Barbara Whitehurst Little River, SC |

We would like to thank all the staff at the Humane Society of North Myrtle Beach, SC for all that they do, they all are a blessing to the animals that are in their care. Here is a picture of
Gizmo. He was one of their many animals that they named and cared for until Sept 2008, when we adopted him. When I first saw Gizmo at the shelter, he was a very shy and timid dog, who tugged at my heart. I would sit with him for hours in his kennel, just trying to get to know him. Well, it worked. We now have Gizmo 6 months and he has shown Amazing progress. When we first brought him home, he was so afraid that he would just watch us and peek out of the bedroom as we walked around. Then as time went by, he would start to follow us little by little wherever we went. Now, he is with us constantly. He looks forward to his ride in the car and coming to work with me everyday. He understands every word I say to him. He greets people with his tail wagging, always ready to play. Life is great. Thank you again my friends at the shelter for showing me how
wonderful life can be.He's doing great--love ya Judy |

I just wanted you to know a little about how Tyson, now named Gunnar is doing. When we first got him i was ready for the housetraining stage, but lucky for me he came pre-trained! He could not be any better for my family. He is so loving and sweet. After having him for about 2 months my husband and I decided that he would like a little buddy to play with, so we adopted a pit mix to play with him. They hit it off immediatley. Right now Gunnar is on the couch with his head on my husbands lap and all four feet in the air getting belly rubs. Loke (his puppy brother) is right beside him sleeping.I guess you can say he is a happy happy doggy! Thank you so much for the opportunity to own such a wonderful dog!Rachel & Alex Baye P.S. i am enclosing a picture of Gunnar playing out in the yard. |

Had a message on my phone today inquiring about Maya and Clara (I named her Abby). They both are doing very, very well. Have adjusted nicely to the other pets in the house. Maya is a little laid back and Abby is into EVERYTHING!!!!!! She can get herself into places you would never think she could. She's really grown and is absolutely gorgeous. Maya sleeps with me at night. Abbey sleeps on the bed in the spare bedroom. They do what cats do...sleep and eat. The vet says they are very happy and healthy. I'm attaching a couple of current photos of them. I took these photos today and yesterday. They are an absolute joy to have in the house. I could tell that Abby wanted to go outside when I first brought her home. She seems content now knowing that she isn't allowed outside. Thank you so very much for allowing me to have them. Enjoy the photos. Thanks for calling. So nice to know that you are concerned about them. The two photos attached are of Abby. I'll send photos of Maya separately so that the download time will be shorter.Joan |

This is Tobie and we had adopted him in May 2008. My husband saw his sister at the convention center in Myrtle Beach and had wanted to adopt her. However, once we had arrived at the Humane Society, he fell in love with him. He stated " this is the one I wanted". We couldn't wait to bring him home. He has grown from 11 lbs when we got him to almost 90 lbs. He is our big puppy. He will turn "1" around March 2nd. We already had two elder cocker spaniels. Tobie has brought new life to them and constantly keeps them going.- wants to play all the time, but likes his naps. He has been a joy to our family and has been a great addition to our family. He is great with my three boys and loves to play with them. He is very playful and very active, but he also loves to be cuddled for such a big puppy.Thank you for bring him into our lives. Lilly was so very sad and in such poor condition when we took her into our hearts and home 7-15-2006. She is an absolute "bucket of love" and kept me smiling through the loss of our dog Nikita. We adopted Lilly to be Nikita's playmate/sister and one month later found out Nikita had lymphoma, she passed away November 21, 2006. Nikita would carry her toys over to Lilly and lay them in the bed with her, it was like she understood Lilly was not well and she wanted to share her things with her, even though she herself was sick and we did not know it yet. Lilly even regained full use of her back leg, without any surgery as was feared would be necessary. The vet has been amazed at Lillys transformation, they really did not expect her to live when we took her home, they said she was so under-nourished, that she had been through so much & it was obvious she had just given up.Lilly & Nikita became best friends so quickly and it was so unfair that they had such a short time together. Lilly was devesated when she lost her "sister", so we adopted Sissy a Rottweiler /Doberman mix Decemebr 2006 (got her @ Brunswick Co. dog pound, won't call that place a shelter), which lifted Lillys spirits back up. Then January 2008 we adopted two more Rottys (Onslow County Animal Shelter, they had 3 hours left to live, the Rottweiler Rescue services had no open foster homes so they were scheduled to DIE) now we have four loving girls; LILLY, SISSY, ROXY & LAYLA, in our home and they are all, happy, healthy and loving their new lives here with us where they are safe & secure till the end of their days. We have been adopting / rescuing Rottweilers for over 17 years, they are the GREATEST dogs with such an undeserved bad reputation. It is my firm belief that it is how an animal is raised that makes it's personality / behavior, "bad or mean" animals have been made that way by very bad humans whom do not deserve to breathe the same air as innocent animals that only want to please.Vicky Tesh |

I am sending you some pictures of my favorite little man and one of your favorites as well, JoJo. He is doing great in his new home. He is growing like a weed and of course is in to everything but we love it and him. He loves playing with our older dog CoCo they play for hours at a time and get along real well. He has learned to sit, shake, speak, laydown, and stay. He got to play in what I am sure was his first snow a couple of days ago and he loved it, he rolled around in it, was eating it, and just had so much fun we couldn't get him to come back inside. We are very happy to have JoJo in our home and I have sent some pictures of him to you all and was wanting to let you know that he is doing great and that we love him so much. If you could please e-mail us back at this address so that we know that you have recieved this e-mail we would greatly appreciate it and thank-you for allowing us to adopt JoJo and make him a new addition to our home.Leslie Watts |

We adopted "Boo" at Pet Smart on Sept 12,2008. He is very happy in his home and a very spoiled kitty. He got his name Boo because when we brought him home, he always hid beside something and peeked at you around the corner as if he was saying "Boo" waiting for you to come by. He is a treat lover, and mommy makes his food bowl up every day with hard food and soft food together, and sometimes we make it warm with warm water in it too and he laps it up and is very happy. Every now and then he sleeps upside down and with his paws over his head, its very funny to see. We attached a picture of him doing this. He loves to run around and shoots down the hallway at record speeds and can do a whole lap around the living room touching every piece of furniture in seconds flat and then be out of sight again. He is very lovable and our family is so happy to have him. He has been litter trained since we got him and he has never had any problems at all with it. We are very proud of him. He is our little son we never had. We call him "Boo Kitty" and he knows his name....he is most definately a success story. |

Thank you all for all of the hard work you do at the shelter. Without you, we never would have been able to adopt "Sassy" and give her a forever home. She has lived up to her name and gone from the very sick little kitty to what you now see today. If we could encourage people that are considering pet adoption to do one thing it would be to come to the shelter and make one of the animals their own. Forget the breeders and pet stores where they will spend far beyond what they should. At the shelter there are so many animals waiting to bring the same joy and happiness that Sassy has brought to us. Again, thank you for helping our defenseless animals.Larry and Sally Hotchkiss |

We adopted Wags (the cat) from the North Myrtle Beach Humane Society on Saturday, March 22. If I remember correctly, we were told that Wags had been at the shelter for a year and a half. We can’t believe how many people must have walked by his crate and did not select him. He is a DELIGHTFUL cat! I worried that he may be negatively impacted by my decision to have him front declawed because he was over 2 years old, but he was not. He is very playful, friendly, and loves to talk. He is the ultimate “lap” cat. He puts his paws up on your chest, looks up at you adoringly, and purrs loudly. He follows us from room to room and wants to be included in all family activities. My friends can’t believe that he meets people at the door and jumps up to greet them like a dog. THANK YOU FOR CARING FOR THIS WONDERFUL CAT UNTIL HE COULD BE ADOPTED! I am including a few pictures so you can see him in his new home. You will see that Wags is a very happy cat.Lydia Bell |

Hi,I wanted to let you that Sophie (now Sadie) is doing great. After I picked her up from the shelter, we took a nice long walk on the beach, and she did great on the trip to her new home in Raleigh. She loves car rides! Every morning's walk is getting better and better....learning to walk nicely without going totally crazy greeting each and every person, dog, squirrel, bird. She's a quick learner and it's so obvious, she just wants to be loved and aims to please. We're not 100% there yet with my 2 cats, but it's only been 2 weeks and no major issues. At least they can be in the same room together :) She's such a sweet, happy girl and I'm so glad we found each other. Thank you for all you do. Rhonda Rostetter |

Toby joined our family last October. I knew I wanted to adopt a dog and had been searching for a long time before I found him at the Humane Society of North Myrtle Beach. We don't know that much about Toby other than he was a stray. We think he is about five years old and he is definitely a Pomeranian mix. He was very timid at first but always loving. He is still not too fond of strangers but loves my husband and I to death! Toby is truly the joy in our lives. He loves to play with his stuffed animals, go for long walks in the neighborhood, and eat treats. He has to sleep in the bed with us each night but we don't mind. He's so small we hardly notice him down at our feet. Toby's favorite place in our house is the bed in our guest room where he can stare out two huge double windows. He is definitely our little guard dog. Toby has been such a blessing in our lives. We never knew that a little dog could bring us so much happiness! Thank you so much for helping Toby and so many other animals like him find homes.Amy Causey Shallotte, NC |

Sarge has done very well with us. He has quite the personality. Sarge and our other cat, Silas, love to sleep close by....on the bed and wake up during the middle of the night and play, thus waking us up. We don't mind too awful much. He loves music and makes his way to my audio studio quite often. He likes to lay on my producer's desk and play with the mouse. Guess he gets that honest huh? I have attached several pictures of Sarge (Laddy) in action! Thanks for our little buddy. Mark, Gina, Kaleigh, Hayes, Jessica and Samantha |

This is Pooh Bear. I also adopted him last year about Feb, with Ms. Kattie. his former name was Tommy. He is also doing well with his new adopted friends. He is a little shy and loves the outdoors. However, he is an indoor cat . He has a kitty door that he uses to go outside some. He doesnt play as well as the other cats but is very loving when he is alone with you. He is very independent and likes his time alone. His favorite spot is the top of my couch on his blanket.Just wanted you to know where and how he was doing. Thanks Wanda Truett |

This is one of the cats I adopted last year about Feb I think, from your shelter. It was a kitten then. She is now grown up. We know her as Ms. Kattie. She enjoys playing with her other adopted cats, Pooh Bear, which also came from your shelter,(formerly known as Tommy), and Puss in Boots, which was also a stray. She is kept indoors with a large screened in back porch that she loves to sun bathe in. She also has made friends with BB, our weiner dog, and PJ our little Chihuahua. She is very loving and good with kids. She likes to lick.. she licks us more than our dogs. Just wanted you to know where and how she was doing. I will foward Pooh Bear also. Thanks, Wanda Truett |

We adopted Brie, a 7 month old mixed breed with beautiful Brindle coloring the Saturday before Thanksgiving, just hours after we had to put our 15 year old Border Collie down to medical problems. Brie is such a loving puppy with a lot of energy and loves playing with any kind of ball. From the time she walked into our house, she knew she was home. We have taken her to Petsmart twicewhere everyone we met said how pretty she is and she loved the attention she got at the Christmas Regatta. Brie loves to give kisses and even though she weighs 32 pounds, she thinks she is a lapdog. She also loves to cuddle in bed with us, not looking twice at the comfy doggie bed we got her. We are so glad that we adopted Brie from the North Myrtle Beach Humane Society. Brie has become a very important part of our family. Thank you so much to the staff!Wayne & Colleen Little River, SC |

As you can see, Max (left) and his sister Gracie are digging their new digs in Little River after arriving at their new home Sept. 1 (2007) from the NMB shelter. These lively Maine coon sibs have brought a whole new rhythm (patter of cat feet as they play and chase each other throughout the house) and energy to the once-sleepy fishing village. They also keep daily tabs on their new parent to make sure she's doing the right things (keeping cat bowls filled, litter boxes cleaned). Thought you might like to see a couple of pictures of Daisy, we renamed her Missy. It's been 3 months now and she's beginning to chase and play with our two jack russells. She's right at home and enjoys playing with the dog's hard food and flying around the house like a crazy cat. We're really enjoying her. Thanks, Jim and Galina |

Hi! My family and I just wanted to drop you a line to let you know how our newest member to our family is doing. We have named her Sandy and have already had her to the vets for her well puppy check up. she is now on Frontline Plus and has her heart worm medicine. She is very playful with my kids and they absolutely love her, as do my husband and myself. Everyone we meet we tell them we got her at your shelter and there are a lot more where she came from who need a good home. She now jingles when she walks do to the fact that she has more than one tag on now. She has her rabies tag as well as a get me home tag from getmehome.com and a tag with her name and our address and phone number on it from Petsmart. We wouldnt want anything to ever happen to our newest baby. I hope her sister gets addopted soon. I have included pictures for all of you and we will be bringing her by for all to see sometime soon. Thank you for our newest member into our familly.God bless and thank you again, Nichole Pascocello and family |

I have had my new home just short of 2 months and I am very happy. My new Mom and Dad really treat me great. Every morning I go to the beach for an hour of exercise and friendship. I get great treats and Mom takes me to pet carnivals and fairs.I have gotten used to a crate while riding in the car and use a bed at night. I have many toys and life is great. Thank you so very much for helping me find Mom and Dad. Love and Licks, Pippin (formerly Tony McDuff) Proud Adoptee of Barbara South, Murrells Inlet, SC |

Please welcome the newest member of the Pine household...Her name is "Roo". You've already met "Tig'ger" in an earlier Success Story. There was some initial coolness from Tig'ger when we brought Roo home, but they're starting to play like old friends. Tig'ger is reserved and very particular, where Roo is playful and inquisitive. The combination is priceless. They are so much alike, but they hate to admit it. I know they'll come to love each other, unconditionally. There are dozens and dozens more cats and dogs alike at the shelter that are just waiting for a loving, patient home. Open your heart, your home and your mind. Adopt today, use patience tomorrow and enjoy the rest of the time with the best friend(s) you'll ever have...(Have you ever had your best friends waiting for you at the door when you arrive home each day? You can have this each day, when you responsibly adopt from your local shelter.) Please if you plan to adopt ask yourself the following questions: (1) Do I have the time for my pet? (2) Do I have the patience for my pet? (3) Will I sacrifice for my life for my pet? (4) Will my adoption improve this pet's life? If you've answered No to any of these questions, then please, do not adopt a pet. Come by the shelter and visit, volunteer or donate, but don't adopt. A pet is person without the voice. She/He can't tell you it's unhappy, you have to do everything in your power to ensure it's happy. Thank you, Frank& Rose Pine North Myrtle Beach, SC |

I adopted Samson just last month and he has been a wonderful addition to my household. I could not ask for a more loving pet. He's fast becoming the lap cat I always wanted. Samson was the first cat I saw when I walked into the Humane Society. It took me at least five minutes to realize he only had one eye. I made my way through the shelter, but he had stolen my heart. I picked him up that afternoon. It took him awhile to adjust, especially to my other cat Zoey, but he walks around as if he owns the place now. Samson is a wonderful cat, and I'm so glad to be able to give him the home he deserves.Jeannette Darhower |

Greetings! As you can see, Shelby & Shatrena (was Katrina - - I changed her name) are the best of friends. They are both two now and their pictures show them in their rare quite moments. They are constantly finding new forms of entertainment! What fun they are and so much love they give to me. Thank you all for helping so many animals in need and bringing such into the homes of those who adopt them.Rita Pueschner |

My daughter cannot pronounce Gizzy, so he has adapted to Gizard :) He is an absolute doll. The first night he stayed under my daughter's bed, and because he weighs 21 pounds, we thought he might get stuck! He slept with me and my husband last night, literally, in my hair and across my neck, making biscuits...We have 5 dogs and Gizard just walks by with his head up high like they do not exist, and we have 8 other cats, he is playing with the younger two, the older ones just stand around and stare...My vet says he is in great shape, but some weight does have to come off :)... I get sick at the thought of someone "just" turning in their cat... but I have done my part, again, and I have another wonderful animal... y'all are angels at the shelter! Thanks again for all you do! Stacey Biddy |

Hello! My name is Diane Fitzgerald and one year ago, I adopted a puppy. He was a chow mix and a furry little fluff ball. I have had many dogs in my life, and this dog, Tippy, has been the best mannered, sweetest dog I have ever invited into my life. He was shy of many things at first - stairs, doorways, food bowls, but he soon overcame those scary things. He only had an accident in the house 3 times. I have never found the need for obedience training, because he simply knows what I want, and does it. I don't ever even remember raising my voice to him. He loves other dogs, tolerates cats, and really loves little children. I am sending a couple of pictures. Thank you - North Myrtle Beach Humane Society. Tippy is a treasure. |

Tig'ger (tig-eeer) was adopted in Oct 2005 from The Humane Society of North Myrtle Beach, SC. Tig'ger was a great addition to our life. My wife, Rose, picked Tig'ger from the mix, when he continued to hug her neck. He continues to demand his breakfast entirely too early in the morning, but we really love his company and keeps us laughing. The only thing that he lacks is a friend, so it won't be long before Rose brings home a playmate for him. Adopt today. You won't regret it. The folks at the HSNMB are the best!!! SUPPORT YOUR SHELTER!!! Thank you,Frank & Rose Pine North Myrtle Beach, SC |

My name is Marvin (which was my shelter name)...and I LOOK like a Marvin....and if anyone wants to see MORE of me, just go to Dogbook and look under "Marvelous Marvin Miller" !
Toonces is 16 pounds and Gabby is a little over 5 and she loves to wrestle him!
Hi Gang,
Murphy was a great passenger for the 17 hour ride to New Hampshire and is gaining weight and size quickly.
Hello Everyone,
Just dropping a line to let you know that Lilly is doing great! She is EXACTLY what we wanted. She's the perfect companion and she gets along great with Ducky, the Rat Terrier. We're so glad she's part of the family!
I've attached a picture of Lilly playing with two of her friends.
Tina and fellow humane folks,
This is a picture of the kitten we adopted from the Humane Society. We got her about 2 years ago, and we think she is the greatest cat ever!! We all love her very much and she is very happy in this home.
I would love to talk to their owners.
We adopted Shawnze on 9/25/09.She is doing great and loving her new home and family thank you so much for rescuing her. She Thanks you too!! Here are a few pictures for you all to see..
We had two dogs home at the time.
We adopted "Latte" from your shelter in May 2008 at PetSmart. As you can see she is very spoiled and is so loved. She brings us all so much joy.
I thought you might like to see your little "Sparrow"(now Delilah) in her element. She has claimed all the mice, the newest bed, and sleeps with me in my bed now too.
Greetings from New Orleans to all of you. As you can see from the attatched pictures, Bernard has a great home here. He traveled real well for 2 days in the car and has made himself rite at home here.
North Myrtle Beach Humane Society,
Snuggles is doing great.
Hi All,
Hi,
This is a picture of the kitten we adopted from the Humane Society. We got her about 2 years ago, and we think she is the greatest cat ever!! We all love her very much and she is very happy in this home.
We wanted to share these photos of Jill with her friends at the shelter. She is a wonderful dog and we love her to pieces. Thanks to all for all the good work you do every day.
We just adopted our second family member from the NMB Shelter. Our beloved Lucy passed away on St. Patrick's Day. We came to the shelter and found Fifi and brought her home last week. She is the sweetest thing and fit right into the family with our other Boston Terrier. I believe she loves her new
home and we are very happy with her. Thank you so much.
Thank you again my friends at the shelter for showing me how
wonderful life can be.
Attached are a few photos of Maxine. When we addopted her in Nov 2008 she was called Desteny. She is doing great addapting very well, she is a very happy puppy. She weighs 50lbs and she is 7 months old. We will stop by some time with her for a visit.
Thank you so much for the opportunity to own such a wonderful dog!
Tina here is the picture of Hannah and Jenna. Aren't they adorable. Our Vet thinks she is part spitz. My dad says she's a bird dog, but my oldest daughter said she is part Jendo.! haha, so who knows!!!! haha it really doesn't matter. She's cute and Hannah loves her. She's still a little hyper, but getting better. She'll be 1 in April. (Thats our guess)
Hello,
Had a message on my phone today inquiring about Maya and Clara (I named her Abby). I'll send photos of Maya separately so that the download time will be shorter.
He is very playful and very active, but he also loves to be cuddled for such a big puppy.
Hello everyone
Just wanted to give you an update on Harley(D352). He has adapted well to life in New Jersey, saw his first snow I attached the photo of him in the snow...he loved playing in it wish I had a video camera at the time it was too cute! He started obedience classes this past Monday it is an 8 week course. We take him daily to the Ocean County Park they have an off leash dog park there and HE LOVES IT...meets new dogs and runs and plays. My parents found Harley in Barefoot on November 12th my Dad's birthday and my Mom says he is our Angel Dog....and we have to agree with her is a blessing and I thank God everyday for giving Harley to us he bring us so much love and joy! I also thank God for all you do down there at the Shelter you guys are angels!!!!!!! Thank you so much for all you do and I wish more people would go to shelters and adopt there animals!!!!!!!!!!
It is my firm belief that it is how an animal is raised that makes it's personality / behavior, "bad or mean" animals have been made that way by very bad humans whom do not deserve to breathe the same air as innocent animals that only want to please.
If you could please e-mail us back at this address so that we know that you have recieved this e-mail we would greatly appreciate it and thank-you for allowing us to adopt JoJo and make him a new addition to our home.
Again, thank you for helping our defenseless animals.
Maya and Abbey are doing just fine. Abby is a little rambunctious just like all young cats. Maya is as laid back as any cat I've ever seen.
You will see that Wags is a very happy cat.
Hi,
Toby joined our family last October. Thank you so much for helping Toby and so many other animals like him find homes.
His favorite spot is the top of my couch on his blanket.
Thank you so much to the staff!
We are most appreciative and grateful for the NMB Humane Society for all it does, especially connecting ordinary people with such extraordinary pets.
Lucy is the best pet we have ever had. Even with all her medical problems, she is a total joy. We are getting ready to adopt another family member from the Shelter and thank the girls for all their hard work.
Hi. Here are some photos of “Maggie”. She is adorable and very much at home here. She and my puppy, “Sammy” are already fast friends.
Thought you might like to see a couple of pictures of Daisy, we renamed her Missy. It's been 3 months now and she's beginning to chase and play with our two jack russells. Thank you for our newest member into our familly.

I have had my new home just short of 2 months and I am very happy. My new Mom and Dad really treat me great. Every morning I go to the beach for an hour of exercise and friendship. I get great treats and Mom takes me to pet carnivals and fairs.
Please welcome the newest member of the Pine household...Her name is "Roo". You've already met "Tig'ger" in an earlier Success Story. Thank you all for helping so many animals in need and bringing such into the homes of those who adopt them.
My daughter cannot pronounce Gizzy, so he has adapted to Gizard :) He is an absolute doll. The first night he stayed under my daughter's bed, and because he weighs 21 pounds, we thought he might get stuck! He slept with me and my husband last night, literally, in my hair and across my neck, making biscuits...
Thank you,
