Adoption Success Story

In October, 2008 my husband, Ken, and I went to The Humane Society of North Myrtle Beach to visit and possibly adopt a Black and Tan Coonhound named Paula. We decided Paula would come home with us. While waiting to complete the adoption paperwork a six year old Yellow Lab mix "lobby" dog known as Jill kept bringing her toys to Ken. He would pet her, she would nudge his hand for more, he would throw her toy and the whole started over again. This went for a little while until I... spoke up and told the shelter staff I thought we were changing our mind. Jill had adopted us! I felt awful that Paula wasn't coming home with us but we could only have one dog. Paula was later adopted into a loving home.

I picked up Jill on a Tuesday morning and she has been the perfect dog for us. She NEVER barks, doesn't beg for food, and goes everywhere we go. If Jill can't go we don't either. Our now at least 13 year old girl has arthritis but that doesn't stop her. She is loving her life and is the light in our life.
