Adoption Success Story

We adopted Rowdy, now named Blue. I have never felt such a bond and connection with a dog that I know this is a success story! When we first met him, he jumped and pulled and we were told he was cat aggressive. Well, we have cats, but have alot of experience with dogs and getting them used to cats and we just KNEW he was our perfect dog. A couple days after we brought him home, a storm hit while we were out. We had no idea that he was terrified of storms. We came home and his crate was in half and he was no where to be found. Calling around the house, we found him in the bathroom, cuddling with two kittens in the bathtub. He jumped out eagerly and we knew, at that moment, he had decided to be perfect for us as well. Blue, was at the shelter for over 5 months and now lives happily a block from the beach with his doggy and kitty friends! He doesn't pull on his leash anymore and cuddles and plays with kittens now! I guess it took him so long to find a home because he was waiting for us! Thank you HSNMB! We are beyond blessed and thankful to have decided to come by the shelter! He has made our hearts full again after losing our old pitty!

Adoption Ambassadors Program

The Humane Society of North Myrtle Beach has received a grant from the ASPCA to unleash a new Adoption Ambassador Foster Program.
The Program is an innovative initiative where Foster Parents, also known as Adoption Ambassadors, are empowered to become adoption counselors on behalf of HSNMB to find and approve their fostered pets' adoptions.  Adoption Ambassadors get the incredible satisfaction of making sure their fostered animals find loving, permanent homes with families that they deserve.

The Humane Society of North Myrtle Beach is recruiting folks that are passionate about helping us save more lives by sharing their hearts, homes and businesses with homeless animals and, ultimately, saving their lives by helping them find loving, permanent homes.

We are looking for anyone who is passionate about saving homeless pets to join our Adoption Ambassador Team, especially business owners who are willing to bring foster dogs to work or who are willing to keep a shelter cat on display in their business! Foster parents are the best advocates for these animals. After all, who knows the animals better than someone who is spending the most time with them?
We need Adoption Ambassadors and businesses to take shelter dogs or cats that are available for adoption and pledge to help those animals find safe and loving homes. This program will enable our shelter to help more animals annually by reducing the overcrowding in our shelter and helping us to reach a new market of potential adopters who otherwise may never come through our doors to look for a new pet.

The Humane Society of North Myrtle Beach will provide new Adoption Ambassadors with all the supplies needed to care for their foster pets and extensive support, such as pet training and ideas for marketing fostered pets.

Pet lovers can sign up to join the Adoption Ambassadors Team by completing a Foster Application here!
